When it comes to technical features, superior fit, and ultimate responsiveness, the Thraxis stands out as a leader in the freeride category. It is the stiffest and most supportive boot in K2's collection, designed to meet the demands of even the most advanced riders.
The Thraxis features a Zonal BOA® Fit System with three dials: two for zonal exterior lacing and one for controlling K2's Conda™ liner lacing system. A soft, urethane “chip” at a 45° angle around the ankle allows for precise micro-adjustments to the boot fit, effectively eliminating heel lift. The boot is wrapped in K2's most supportive liner, made from multiple densities of heat-moldable Intuition® foam. This open-cell foam can be remolded repeatedly to ensure a perfect fit throughout the boot's lifespan. The liner also includes K2's breathable and heat-reflecting Spaceheater™ material, keeping feet warm and dry all day. Additionally, the liner features a 95% post-consumer recycled coffee mesh from SCafe™ to combat unwanted odor after a long day on the slopes.
Underfoot, the midsole combines lightweight EVA with Harshmellow™, K2's proprietary technology that absorbs impact, enhances damping, and provides a quieter ride. The Thraxis also boasts K2's ALL-NEW Vibram® V5 outsole, offering exceptional traction in the boot pack and made with at least 30% recycled rubber through the Vibram® Ecostep program.
